Will the recipe benefit me if I only do it for a few days? I have read that there are certain foods that you can "cheat" with on the diet if you get too hungry?

@Antoinette : You can consume around 6-10 servings a day and you don't eat your daily meals when you are on the master cleanse diet. You should do around 10 days for the master cleanse.

The agave substitution is not any part of the Master Cleanse. In his book, "Healing for the Age of Enlightenment", he says to use one tablespoon of blackstrap molasses instead of maple syrup in the beginning and increase it to two tablespoons and then switch to a single tablespoon of maple syrup and gradually increase it to two tablespoons of maple syrup as you monitor your blood sugar closely.

Agave nectar may have a lower glycemic index, but Burroughs points out that the molasses has the minerals that the pancreas needs to get back normal functioning.
